SORRY Distinct and fierce is the best way to describe multi-disciplinary artist, SRE (pronounced "sorry"). Born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario from a Jamaican and African background, SRE grew up around music while creating with what his parents could provide. His love for music originated from 2-3 years old when he would dance and incorporate a yoga ball, djembe, pots and pans to create a DIY drum set while playing the theme song to “The Wiggles” every time it aired. After years of striving in dance and talent show cyphers, SRE began to take his craft seriously by exploring the creative side of producing, writing, and engineering in October 2019. In September 2020, SRE released his first self-produced EP, “Honda Vibez”, that carried a melodic, sensational experience throughout the project. This allowed him to begin growing his fanbase as a new emerging artist. The following year came in April 2020 when SRE released his first debut album, “Beauty In Disguyse”, which captured vulnerability in his use of art as therapy. With his song “RAMPAGE” being his main single, this allowed his track to reach 50k streams for the first time. In addition, this gave him the opportunity to perform his work at the Meridian Hall through the assistance of ViBE Arts. As SRE continues to progress as an emerging artist in his city, he has been inspired by numerous artists ranging across many genres that has influenced him lyrically, melodically and sonically. His motivation and passion for music comes from life experiences and hope to inspire a generation of younger artists to become resilient. In addition to having released his second album, Finding Mars, he has played at the Vaughan International Music Festival, and Oshawa Covergence Music Festival, as well as opened for Juno Award winner Haviah Mighty, Tona, Hip-Hop and Afro-fusion artist EverythingOShauN, R&B/Dancehall artist Omega Mighty, Elderbrook, and Vandelux. As SRE progresses as an emerging artist, he hopes to inspire the next generation of younger artists to become resilient and pursue their talents.
